NFL Sunday predictions for Week 3 of the 2017 NFL season. Last Sunday proved to be very profitable for the team as our man Leigh Copson went 4/6 with his NFL Sunday betting tips, and he is back with his six best bets from this Sunday’s line-up. Read on for all of our free predictions and betting tips.

New York Giants at Philadelphia Eagles (18:00 BST)

The start of the 2017 season has been nothing short of miserable for the New York Giants, who have struggled to get anything going on offense in defeats to Dallas and Detroit. They desperately need a victory in Philadelphia this Sunday but I do not see them getting one. The Eagles have hardly set the world alight in the first two weeks, following up an opening-weekend win over Washington with a close defeat to Kansas City a week ago, but that defensive live is going to cause all sorts of problems for a weak New York offensive front and that should lead to another miserable day for Eli Manning. The Eagles should take this and I believe the winning margin will be much bigger than the bookies expect.

Houston Texans at New England Patriots (18:00 BST)

New England rebounded from the surprise home defeat to Kansas City by cruising to victory against New Orleans a week ago, and now they will aim to get their first home win on the board when they host Houston on Sunday. The Texans arrive at the Gillette Stadium on the back of a win in Cincinnati last time out, but the Patriots team is a massive step up from those toothless Bengals. Bill Belichick’s defense are going to take away rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson’s chances to scramble and they are going to force him to try to win the game with his arm, but from what we have seen so far there is very little chance of the Texans youngster pulling that off. New England will make it a miserable afternoon for Watson while his counterpart, Tom Brady, leads the Patriots to a convincing win.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Chicago Bears (18:00 BST)

No team is facing a tougher first six weeks of the season than Chicago, and to make matters worse for the Bears they are not a very good team on one side of the football. Defensively they do look good, but on offense they have serious problems. Quarterback Mike Glennon turned the ball over three times in last week’s blow-out loss in Tampa Bay, the receivers were guilty of embarrassing drops and a lack of a downfield threat is preventing them from spreading out defenses. That loss to the Bucs was humiliating and it could get even worse this weekend with Pittsburgh coming to Soldier Field. The Bears defense will try to keep it close, but they will tire from all of the time they are spending on the field and that should result in the Steelers running away with it.

Cincinnati Bengals at Green Bay Packers (21:25 BST)

Aaron Rodgers – rather surprisingly – has never led the Green Bay Packers to victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, but that should all change when these two clubs meet at Lambeau Field on Sunday. The Packers were soundly beaten by Atlanta last time out to fall to 1-1, but the Bengals are in even worse shape having scored just nine points in the opening two weeks to find themselves 0-2. A trip to Lambeau is the last thing Cincinnati need right now and in front of the home fans I expect Green Bay to return to winning ways.

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers (21:25 BST)

The AFC West looks set to be very competitive once again this season, with three teams considered possible playoff contenders. The Los Angeles Chargers are not one of them, but the Kansas City Chiefs are and that is no surprise following their good start to the season. They came from behind to beat the Patriots in New England on opening night and then pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Philadelphia a week ago. They now take on a Chargers team that are still seeking their first win after defeats to Denver and Miami. Los Angeles have done a decent job at keeping things close in those losses and we should see something similar here, but once again they will come up short with rookie Kareem Hunt likely to play a starring role for Kansas City in both the running and the passing game for the third week running.

Oakland Raiders at Washington Redskins (01:30 BST Monday)

Oakland have done nothing to dispel the notion that they will be a major threat in the AFC this season, winning their first two games of the season in comfortable fashion. They have been explosive on offense, racking up 71 points and 769 yards through their first two games and while they will face much tougher opposition than the Titans and Jets down the line, you have to believe this is a team that can go deep in the post-season. A trip to Washington is next up for Derek Carr & Co. and, simply put, I do not see this Washington offense being able to keep pace with this impressive Oakland unit. Kirk Cousins is still trying to develop some chemistry with his receivers and this Raiders defense is capable of taking away his run game, so the recipe is there for a big road win for Jack Del Rio’s team.
